With the start of February finally here let us all forget about the chilly December and first couple weeks of January that we have had to played in.  I have had to buy additional pants since it has not been short either.

Let me start with a couple of housekeeping items that we need to bring up. I wanted to make sure you are all aware of our hole-in-one club we have for league play. It is $5.00 and you can print the form from our website which is www.chmga.org. If you are fortunate enough to get an ace you will collect the pot of money. Just fill out the form and leave in our drop box or take in to golf shop. We currently have around 60 members in the club. We did have a hole in one couple months ago and the member was not in the club at that time.

If during play outside of league and you do not get to finish the last few holes you need to put your hole by hole in our USGA GHIN handicap system. The system will then generate the remaining holes based on your handicap. We are working hard in trying to make all golfers get every score in the system that they play to be fairer and more equitable to all golfers. Speaking of handicaps as promised your board reviewed around 8 request to allow members to move up to a new shorter tee box so they could enjoy this wonderful game better. All requests were honored and the golf staff has made the appropriate changes going forward. We will again look at the request in July after our board meeting and adjust as necessary. Remember the formula for tee box assignments can be found on website as well. For some of our newer members it is based on adding your age and handicap index together and that number will assign you to the proper tee box. Your board is always looking for ways to make our association even better so if you have any ideas that you think we should investigate please grab a board member and have a chat. The board members can be found on the website as well so do not be afraid to ask. While you are on the site you can also visit the past months minutes as well. Keep your schedule open for February 6 as this will be our scramble and lunch event which is a way of thanking all our members. We will again run a 50-50 raffle as it was a big hit at our annual meeting. Let us look at some of our recent winners during league play.
